Meeting each other in Blixembosch
We have been living Blixembosch for 27 years. In the beginning it was a brand new neighborhood. Our daily life, however, was on the other side of the city where our work was.
Later we had children and we were in the middle of the neighborhood life with school, childcare and sport. A whole network of friendly parents with children of the same age was created. We were connected to the neighborhood community. This was how many parents went in our child -rich neighborhood.
But now the situation has changed. The parents are aging, sometimes retired. The children often fly to other cities for study and work.
Some of these elderly people have time and interest in volunteering. They sometimes also need more social contact.
Thousands of expats now live in our neighborhood, from distant countries, which often work for the high -tech industry in the region. Some of them want to learn more about Dutch culture, customs and customs. For this they hope to meet Dutch people in a friendly way.
These two groups, the elderly and the expats, have found each other. There are meetings in our neighborhood building where the Dutch elderly and the younger expats meet, to get to know each other better.
